Olivier "livb112" Busquet To Participate In 2011 NBC Heads Up Poker Championships
March 03, 2011 - High stakes heads up poker professional Olivier "livb112" Busquet has been invited and will take part in the 2011 NBC National Heads Up Championships, which take place March 3-6 at Caeser's Palace in Las Vegas.
"It's one of the tournaments I've always wanted to play since its inception, especially because of its heads up format since that's what I play online. I'm just really excited to be there," said Olivier when asked how he felt to be a part of the tournament.
Olivier will square off against 63 other poker professionals and celebrities. Players such as Phil Ivey, Patrick Antonius, Tom Dwan and celebrities such as Jason Alexander will be participating. The buyin is $25,000 to enter the tournament, an increase of $5,000 from last year's event. Players will compete for a total prize pool of 1.8 million dollars, with first place receiving $750,000.
The show will air on television for six consecutive Sundays, starting April 17th. Each show is two hours long. The tournament is a single elimination style tournament, except for the finals, which is a best of three match. Phil Helmuth, Ted Forrest, Paul Wasicka, Chris Ferguson, Huck Seed and Annie Duke have each won the event once since it started in 2005.
