Do i need a password?

The sheets are protected

The sheets are protected because of the enormous amount of formulas in it, but the excel file isn't. You should be able to use it but you need  to unable the macros! Let me know if you have any problems I have also open a thread on 2+2 http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/185/heads-up-sng/new-free-3-bet-shovin...About the music, it's funny that everyone seems to like it. Not much thought went into it, I had just changed my PC and windows media player comes with 3 song samples, it's one of them! :)

3-bet shove equity calculator

Hello,

Is there any chance you could email me the zip or direct me to where I could download the calculator (lotsofblots2.0@gmail.com)? It seems HUSNG.com is all but obsolete, with only the purchasing of their video packs functioning properly since they launched the new site.

Thank in advance!

Jt

I sent a message to Genher.

I sent a message to Genher. If anyone has this, please send me an email (rypac13 @ husng), when we transferred the new site it seems some files went missing, so we're still trying to find/fix those issues. We had a switch in webmasters too, so the priority has been making sure the popular and paid products are functioning well. Thanks for your patience.

But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!

Thanks! I am glad you like

Thanks! I am glad you like it!Just to clarify what "taking into account card removal" means:If you take AA for instance in the grid, the spreadsheet goes and count all of the opening range combos possible without these 2 Aces (cause villain can't have them), then it goes and count every combos in the raisecalling range (once again without the 2 Aces) and calculate the chances we are getting called by comparing the number of combos in the raisecalling range by the number of combos in villain's opening range. It does that for every single hand in the grid at the same time. So for KK in the grid it will count combos without these 2 Kings and so on...Also there is a small bug. It's only cosmetic but still...When you exclude 22-55 from the opening range all PP disappear from the calling range text under the drop down box (where you choose your opponent's calling range) 66+ should still be there OBV! thankfully they are only omitted in the text and not in the calculations!. I will fix that. EDIT: i have just fixed that and I am sending the new versions. I' let you know when it's up.

having a problem.

I am having a trouble for 2 days now, i cant get to the numbers right for example :i have AcAd and villain is opening 64% of hands (actually 63,8%) and calling loose 1 (22+,A2s+, K9s+, QTs+, A5o+, KTo+, QJo+ (23.08%)if i got AcAd villain will open 56,18% and call my shove with 16,8% (my equity vs his range is 85,7%) ,so:(0.168/0.562)*(0.857*(+21)+(1-0.857)*(-19))+(1-0.168/0.562)*3 = +6.67.here is the problem, on the 3bet shoving equity i am getting +6.79 (i know that with 64% all the aces are included so the card removal is not the matter) why are my values so different? can you help me? ps: i am using Pokerprotools.

Card Removal

When you say "card removal" and give the example A6o. I can see how it effects the Combos. But are you removing "whole ranges" when you say "card removal." Also is it important to take your own hand into consideration? Say for instance you did have A6o.

Also is it important to take your own hand into consideration? Say for instance you did have A6o.I do apologize but I am not sure I understand your question!?What I mean by "taking into account card removal" is that when we have for instance A6o (or any other hand in the grid), then there is one less Ace and one less 6 that villain can have in his range and this is taken into account when doing the calculation. Can you explain please what is AllInternalPasswords in macros section? No, I have no idea. Is this in excel or Open office? may be add a screenshot and i'll try to find out. Thanks for this! However i still cant double click on the cells without it saying 'protected cells can not be modified' in openoffice. How do i change this? make sure you have open office 3.3 and that the macros are enabled. if you still have trouble with that PM me so I can help you

Can you explain please what is AllInternalPasswords in macros section?Just looked into that. it's an excel password cracking subroutine I used to recover my excel password after forgeting it during the holiodays. I didn't realize I left it in there. It's harmless but If you are worried about it go in the developer tab, visual basic and delete the subroutine. There is no need for it

Card Removal

Take any range say Super Tight. Are you taking every card in that range as part of the "Card Removal?" Also as a side issue we are not taking Hero's cards into consideration as part of the "card removal."

Take any range say Super

Take any range say Super Tight. Are you taking every card in that range as part of the "Card Removal?" Also as a side issue we are not taking Hero's cards into consideration as part of the "card removal."ok you obviously misunderstood something. I am ONLY taking hero's card into consideration!Let me try to explain: The ranges in the drop down box (like the super tight you mentioned)are the Raisecalling range (meaning the range our villain calls our shove with). Take for instance this same "supertight" raise calling range 66+, A9s, KQs, ATo. It is made up of 126 combos. Now if our villain preflop raises his top 52.04% that's 690 combos. so villain will calls 126/690=18.26% of the time and therefore folds 81.74% of the time (100%-18.26%). Right? Now to make it clearer, lets do the same calculations but this time with card removal. Hero has any hand in the grid. For instance A6o. Now if villain Raisecall with this same "supertight" Raisecalling range 66+, A9s, KQs, ATo, this range is NOW only made up of 103 combos because we have one Ace and one 6 he cannot call our shove with. Also if he still raises his top 52.04% that's now 620 combos only because once again there is one ace and one 6 he cannot raise with (cause they are in our hand). so villain calls 103/620=16.61% of the time and therefore folds 83.39% of the time. Including card removal like in this second calculation is just more accurate (but a pain in the neck to do on a spreadsheet :) )I hope this help. Don't hesitate if you need more clarification.

numbers

Thanks alot for this!In relation to the numbers in the chart - is folding assumed to be 0BB or -1BB?

Dunk7's picture
Card Removal

Thank you I can follow that O.K. Does that mean you are taking every possible combo (1326) in the grid working out the % difference & then taking an "average." Because obviously there is no way of imputing Hero's particular hand? Also as aside issue how do you translate that into BB's won or lost? Thanks for your help to date

Update 5.0: There was a bug

Update 5.0:There was a bug in one of the hand calc (T6o). When I checked it all, I also found an other small one in the "call your shove calc" formula (luckily it made the results a bit too conservative and not the opposite! ).I fixed it all and while I was at it I also removed the slider for the effective stack. I figured out that it was easier and quicker to type than click endlessly on the slider . That way you guys can also use it for stack> at 25BB if you wish or use more precise effective stacks (decimals other than .5).I also ran many more tests to make sure there wasn't any other bug hanging around. All good!Enjoy it!

Thank you!!!

This is awesome! I've been working this stuff out using cardrunners ev but have not spent the time to come up with the raise % slider, calling ranges etc. Have you done the same work for SB open jamming and BB jamming when villain limps? If so, I'd be interested in buying a copy from you. Thanks again!

hennerz1's picture
Thank you. Math question?

Thank you so much for this!Quick math question
Say a 3bet jam has an expectation of -0.2bb..However folding has a expectation of -1bb
We should jam here as overall ignoring the option to call, our expectation of shoving is 0.8bb better than folding right??

RyPac13's picture
You don't want to ignore the

You don't want to ignore the calling option, you want to estimate if it is better than the 3bet jam in this spot or not.

Thank you so much Genher

This software is amazing Genher and it is very great to have by my side when playing.  Being a math guy I'm working on some custom 3bet shoving charts of my own but they are very time consuming and require a lot of work.  So while I am building them I'm using this software and I must say it is fantastic.  Keep up the good work man, Cheers!!!!

Problem with opening software

Aren't we only winning

Aren't we only winning 2BB-s(facing a minraise) when we 3bet jam, and they fold??
Our stack will grow with 2 BB-s after the hand(1t hand f.e.: we have 25, they minr, we shove, we will have 27BB after this)...

I am asking this because this calculator counts in 1 more BB-s(the fold equity part), the one BB we put in pre cause we are OOP. That makes the whole calculator worthless...

genher's picture
First of all my apologies, I

First of all my apologies, I didn't see these last 2 posts.
The calculator calculates the EV of the 3Bet shove move in BB and not in stack growth. The calcs are accurate.
I am not sure why you think they are worthless!?
