Only 6 hands in, he seems aggressive but it is too early to tell. My reasoning for this line is that it felt like he either had a pair, two pair or an open-ender so when the eight came it was unlikely he had a straight and it is very hard for him to call without one.

As played I think the river bet from Zitherist is almost certainly a blocking bet trouble is at this buyin level I see players make what is clearly a blocking bet with TPGK or better then cannot find fold button when they get shoved on.
I think river shove is a lot more profitable when the following conditions are met.
1.) Your table image is percieved as tight
2.) You have some sort of read that player is capable of folding
