Flop decision:
1. Expectation of cbetting flop vs checking back and bluff catching later street(s)?
- If I cbet and villain c/r jams, I have to call with the amount of semibluffed draws out there.
- If I cbet and villain c/r NAI, I think I should flat and play the turn in position vs a polarised Qx + and draw range.
- If I check back I think villain can lead turn with his semibluffs + some bluffs.
Turn & river:
Turn, I call lead, often with the best hand vs a range of Qx +, semibluffed draws as a weak as gutshots, induced bluffs from flop check back.
River, villain leads a sizing which makes me seriously consider folding. And it's one of those gimmicky sizings which is often for value.
Awkward, river spot and I call. Obviously a bit results orients given he binked the river and I lost, but I'm not actually sure he bets this sizing with his bluffs.
2. Which means my river call could be incorrect ?

23 BB deep i think checking back to bluff catch is fine. once we are in the range of 15BB, i´d bet call here.
What do you make of the 124 into 180 sizing?
On average I think these type sizings are for value:
- approx 2/3 pot on the river
- gimmicky non-round number bet sizings
I would be interested to see whether other players have had similar experiences facing these bets?
Or whether it's just a selective memory / psychological bias of my own?
Imo Cdon yes it all look like a value bet size but dont think non-round number bet sizings is also for value/bluff the size reveal much more than gimmicky number (Even if i use to use those type of bet since in sng/mtt to induce a certain action). I think when he bet the turn there he gonna have a lot of 8x-9x but also 4-5-6-7x hands since he can put a bet there to have value from draws weaker pair, on the river it seem like he hit is 2nd pair or just bink a J with is gutshot or draws. Yeah i see the result before posting but this spot is frequent (in my memory found a lot of similar hands). Most of the time i cbet this flop to get value from straight/flush draws and some float since bunch of turn can be bad for our actual ranges there.
Dont Let Variance Affect You!
well my betsizes are often odd too for one simple reason:
i am using keyshortcuts in increments of 10% of the pot from 10% pot to 120% pot and maybe your villain does something similar. so a 70 % betsize is always non-round except you use it on a t100 pot or multiples thereof.
bet sizing is very villain dependant. many use bigger sizes for their bluffs to chase you away, many just do the opposite and some choose betsize depending on board texture, perceived ranges and levelling issues. unless you had a couple of representative situations, you can´t really tell for sure.
