Hiyya Guys!
First of all Happy New Year. :)
Apart from the suckout, what do you think of this barreling situation? Villain was totally unknown. I find really very hard to 3 barrel on this level. People usually call me down with smallest pairs and A high. Of course they are doing it readless. :)
I'm looking forward to your thoughts.
Cheers

I understand your motivation. There is a flushdraw on the board and he decides to call your small c-bet instead of raising. This looks like he is is a weak, what villain will be in most of the time because with only toppair or second pair villain would have raise most times. You make a decent turnbet, which I like. The exact size, 89, can be discussed, how this will perceived under psychological reasons. Maybe a bit bigger would be better. When it comes down to riverbet, this is always hard and really depends on his play. Did he call light in other hands. Is he the type that would see what happens and likes to call his draws, is he able to call down with second or thirth pair? Would he give up when there are overcards coming etc. Many factor into consideration to determain if this is an ok riverbet. As for your own image, you do not look mighty strong. I do not know your min-raise percentage, but your c-bet I would perceive as weak for most of the times. Your turnbet looks a bit stronger, but still not very impressing. I would think or he has absolutely nothing (most of the cases) or he has a very great hand (rarely). Than comes your riverbet, a bit out of the blue and not really consistent with your play before. I think a bet of 180 would look maybe even stronger and would save you some chips. The way you played it and the way the pot is build, I would think you have a lot of bluffs in your range when you come to the river. Would not be surprised if you would get calls from queens and nines to here. Basically your only hope here is that villain has some missed draws or has a very low pair he decides not to call with. To determine if that would be the case, I think it needs a lot more information on villain.
LVT
just to emphase on what laurents told i think which is pretty solid, i think we are better to bet non AI the river since most of the time villain have weak holding like 5x and a lot of draw that missed so i think we actually doing the same effect by making a bet of let say 140 on the river all those hands fold to this size bet too so consider it next time you are in this spot what is the villain most commons ranges on the river and what i wanna accomplish with my bet? Also i think villain play the hands good if he know your wide enough and maybe he know a concept or two about way ahead way behing which give us info that villain is a thinking player and pretty decent if so..dont have the reads for the rest of the match could also be a random move but this is for my perception.
Dont Let Variance Affect You!
To be honest I think your 3 barrel is good here. The board runs out in such a way that an unknown villain is going to end up folding a lot of the time by the river if you continue to apply maximum pressure to his 5x and 3x. Just because he happened to have the top of the range in this case doesn't mean your bluff was bad vs his range. Remember that the majority of villains checkraise Kx and better here on the flop so you can assume that an unknown opponent is pretty likely to have a capped range here. Especially given that a lot of the unknown opponents who would slowplay to the river with two pair here would then get scared that you won't bet river and donk all-in letting you off the hook.
Occasionally you run into it when you barrel off your stack and you tend to remember those times more than the times when you tripled and got the river fold. Don't use that as an excuse to get gunshy unless you seriously think the typical opponent stations with bottom pair here or unless you have a specific read
