Do you think this is a bad call below or am I being results based?
This was the 8th hand in and he had played really spewy so far, I had him on 695 chips because he raised my river bet before this on a 4-5-7-8-K board with a pair of kings, I came back over the top with the straight and he called.
My reason for calling here is because obviously a 4 shouldn't be in his range, and if it is you wouldn't think he open overbet shoves it. A queen seemed strange to overbet shove as well because there are no draws or anything to be afraid of. I thought he might just be frustrated and shoving a random K or ace high, or just even any 2 random cards. The reason I doubt whether calling is right here is because I have to be right more often than not, we have terrible equity against a queen and there are no possible draws he could be shoving with. Thoughts? Maybe i made a bad call just because I had him pegged as a spewy, frustrated donk.

Hey prob call is not that bad cause of his tendencies, but:
you said that he is "a spewy, frustrated donk." so how can u said that "obviously a 4 shouldn't be in his range"? =)
and also u beat only bluffs and if he got Q or even 4 ur equity is in bad shape so against this type of opponent u can find really good spot and not play spots like this without any reads how he play on pair boards and making such a crying call. all IMO and gl to you)
He played a hand spewy with a pair of kings, doesn't neccessarily mean he's calling any 2 in 3bet pots.....it's still possible he calls with a rando hand with a 4 in it yeah, but if he makes that call and is lucky enough to spike the 4 then that's just unlucky for me and I just have to pay it of...but like i said, most people won't open shove trip 4's there, so we're never going to worry about a 4 there imo
I think just 'waiting for better spots' when your opponent is playing aggressive / spewy can lead to losing a lot of equity and getting yourself run over.

Personally, I would have shoved the flop. There is only oe overcard. There is too much invested to risk additional overcards coming off. If you check, it is to induce a shove, which you should be snap calling. If you really don't like the way the hand turned out, you could consider shoving preflop in future. I think you played it well though.
One additional point: many opponents will open shove top pair when the stacks are shallow. This isn't really a good play for someone to make, but it comes up often. So, don't just think that because your opponent has open shoved he has nothing.
You played the hand well though, in my opinion. There were only 3 cards in the deck for him to win with, and he probably shoves that flop every time you check.
If there had have been two or more overcards, a fold would be best.
If i open shove the flop there i'm usually only going to get called when i'm beat? It would be pretty ballsy for him to call an open shove there with A-x or something of the sort that I beat....if you're betting to protect from overcards then you don't need to shove I think, just a standard lead out size would be sufficient. I could have lead, but I did want him to bluff at it if he missed and just see what he did.
Also I'm not sure about shoving preflop for 23bbs, 10-10 is too strong for that and i want to keep hands like Q-x in because i'll do pretty well against them more often than not, esp when he hits the 8 instead of the queen.
At this level it's better to shoving preflop imo... Try it and u will see how often guys at this limit gonna call u with any A or K7+.
I probably shove preflop. You're OOP and not loving it when an overcard comes. Also, you're gonna get called by any Ax, some Kx and all lower pairs, especially vs spewy opponent.
