Hi, I just wanna make sure I did play it well.
Readless.
Flop: Im c/r because he can push it light with draws or worse Tx. After he call, his range is something like Qx,Tx,Ax, maybe KJ, JQ, K9, 89.
Turn: Worst card, honestly I wanted to check/fold here, but odds are pretty good, what do you think? I dont think he would bet there Tx, so I beat only some K9 (I have blocker) or 89 .....
Hi there tightfish
Really don't like the c/r on the flop. Maybe he can spew with some kind of low equity hand - it's possible, but generally very unlikely, I think. Your raise is very small also; opponent will peel with any gutshot draw (or better), poket pair, ace- or king-high, which we really don't want. We just want to get to showdown as cheaply as possible.
I think c/c is a much better line here. Most opponents will not be good enough to slow down, even though we obviously have ace high or better. We can easily stand another barrell any turn card. Assuming opponent is raising his button often, there is no reason to be scared of the ace.
Hope this helps
Hi, recently I saw this kind of line from higher stake reg, and I like it. I think you would never c/r this with trips, so there you have no value c/r range, what is a little bit unbalanced. Thinking player will know, that you have there no value range and he can play back to you by floating or by bluff 3betting.
My plan was to check/raise turn on safe card. Tx is still stacking with me and I will let him bet his gutshot or whatever...
I would just check/call JT and worse Tx.
Ok, as played what would you do on turn?
you cannot literally translate a high stakes game to a micro game. that line might have been based on an aggressive dynamic between the two players or in any other way read based or part of a balanced strategy. you shouldn´t assume you can compare it to readless play at the micros.
Really? I would c/r trips here every time, hoping for 10x, ace high, gutshot etc calls.
With 10x I would smooth call, since it's hard for worse hands to call a c/r. The ace turn, for instance, guarantees that your kicker will not play. More to the point, we can run into Qx, AA, KK, which will probably result in getting stacked if we c/r.
Hope this helps
Yeah, it helped me :)
But I really dont think c/r trips EVERYTIME is good. It depends a lot on villain we are playing with. If he is loose PF or agressive, I believe check/call is much better and you can c/r turn or donk turn. Readless, he raises PF and cbets, so I presume he is on agro side.
I have seen few videos and, if Im right, no one reg was c/r his trips there. I heard opinions like "..everytime I would check/call with trips and donk this (low) turn...."
Back to our hand.
Lets say we have Q9o
Flop QQT. Either we c/r or we check/call and donk 2s turn, or we check/call flop and check/raise Ac turn.
Villain has: 87o - he will fold if we check/raise, but he can bet turn if we check/call flop.
J9o - He will play back to us if we c/r. We check/call, either he will barrel Ac turn or we donks 2s turn and he calls/raises/whatever.
Tx - He will play back to us if we c/r. We check/call, he probably check/back As turn, but he will call/raise our donk.
A high - Not sure if he will play back to us if we c/r. We check/call, he can barrel or he can call aour donk.
Qx - It doesnt matter.
To sum up, its obvious that by c/r we fold out so many air like 87 or K5. We will get more value by c/c flop.
