I have always heard that Ax should be pushed vs a standard or x2, including situations with 25bb etc, but i can not accept yet that this is the most Ev move vs a standard villain... Why isnt it better to just play it oop post? Can someone explain it for the rest of the forum? including maths pls
(sorry for my english...)
Thank you in advance
Hi there Isidro1
You are essentially right. It's often better to flat with Ax oop. Ax plays reasonably well in a single-raised pot, but it can be a bit tricky. But jamming can also be better, especially against strong opponents.
Jamming Ax is what's called an unexplotable play. Even if you were to show your opponent your hand, he simply cannot have a better hand often enough to make a profit, up to a certain stack depth. Therefore no opponent can outplay you in the hand if you shove. This can be great, if your opponent is a strong player and you just want to get the money in with decent equity. On the other hand, flat calling and playing postflop can be more profitable against weaker players. Simply put, if you feel you can outplay your opponent postflop, your edge by flat calling is likely to be better. This depends on a number of factors, the main factor being how aggressive your opponent is. Against a very aggressive opponent, I usually think we can stack off with a pair of aces, regardless of our kicker, since our opponent will fire multi-barrell bluffs so often - great. Against a particularly passive opponent, we can sometimes win with ace high, lower pairs, or we can make a bluff. In my opinion, the players in between are more problematic, since it's difficult to lay down a pair of aces when we are beaten, and difficult to call when ace high is good.
Hope this helps
Hello Adam, thank you so much for your explanation, looks like the perfect answer; everything understood
And now i got you here, i would like to solve other question: Why its wrong to call an OS with low pokets like 22,33 being 25bb deep but its fine (borderline) to call 44+? 22 has at least enough equity vs Ak- ... right?
(sorry again for my bad English )
Thank you!
This is because opponents will shove A2, A3, A4, K2, K3 etc for 15-25 bbs deep (as well as 22 and 33, of course, but these only make up a very small fraction of anyone's range, since pocket pairs are so rare). Our equity vs these hands is about 70%.

Well, as deafult I like to:
Offsuited I flat from A2o to A7o, and I jam A8o+.
Suited I jam from A2 to A9 and I 3bet to 90 chips with AT+
I think with this strategy you can never go wrong against most opponents.
However, I use to play against passive opponents with 30%-40% of minraise, against these players it's pretty terrible to 3bet shove the low Ax.
And against regular opponents with 70%+ minraise I like to shove pretty much every single Ace, that's because I dont give myself a ton of edge postflop OOP, these players are going to make you the life hard, you are not going to the showdown with Ace high because they are gonna fire too much, and so on...
That is my overall strategy on this spot!
Hello, when I put my key, and appears a start and I can not change, this is my key Product ID D9AA-6C30-93A3-9985-859D-2896-B3DE-4CF3. What can I do?
Hi there, I guess it's more reasonable just 3bet NAI value hands and bluffs readless, hands like 88+, KJs+, KQ, You'll be dominating his 3bet flat range most of the time. On the other side if He start to call your 3bets NAI light its better to include another broadways for value, and I would only 3betting NAI with AT if villain loves to 4bet hands like A3. AT+ play bad postflop.
I guess everybody must know this from the pbogz's videos.
Sacrifice minus profit equals zero
