BB Villain 494
SB hero 506

Effective Stacks: 12bb

Blinds 20/40

  • Pre-Flop (60, 2 players) Hero is SB
  • s6sA
hero raises to 80, Villain goes all-in 494, hero calls 414
  • Final Pot: 988

Ok Guys, here we go. I usually just shove A6s at this stack depth. However Villain shoved 2 out of 3 hands over my minraises and almost never called in the BB. Therefore i minraised with the intention to call his shove.

As I am really new to HU Hypers (few hundred games so far) I would appreciate any kind of reply.

Whether this is an absolutely standard adaption against this type of player or totally misplayed just let me know what you think about that hand.

if he's jamming wider than he

if he's jamming wider than he calls then it is absolutely the correct play.

he'd have to jamming a pretty tight range for it not to be a profitable raise/call.

the reason for jamming A6 13bb is because we hate to get flatted by eg J9o which can realise its equity v our range quite well [esp as the ace is such an overt part of our percieved range]. his flatting range will do better than -1bb in ev when it flats a min raise, so the 1bb we get when we jam against it is boss

also there arent many sixes in flatting ranges @ 13bb. when we min raise AT we can dominate KT, QT, JT, T9, T8, T7 etc.

so because he doesnt flat min raising A6s doesnt run into those problems and we do better by inducing those hands to jam.

well adjusted, and well played imo
