I think the turn barrell is fine, it depends on how much villains folds to Check raises on the flop. If they folding a lot you can put them on a narrower value range when they call. I think you can give up on some rivers aswell. Barrell on diamond rivers, a 10 of course and maybe a J if you think they are calling light on the river. On low blank rivers even though you are still showing strength shoving villian has only 240 to call and is likely to stack off.
Hi there manuntdfrvr
I probably wouldn't c/r the flop as standard with only one overcard plus gutshot. Two overcards plus gutshot would be much better. I could still c/r the flop, even without a hand, if I felt the situation was right. This generally means that the opponent is cbetting an awful lot, but is also capable of folding to a c/r. I would definitly c/r a larger sizing though. Even ace high is (almost) forced to peel. You want to put him for a decision for his whole stack so that lower pairs will fold - maybe 150 chips or so.
On the turn, this is a decent card to barrel in the sense that your line continues to make sense for A9, K9, Q9 etc. However, it's not particularly a scare card.
Hope this helps
Dont understand why to check raise to 150 chips.I think this is very big check raise(150) and I try to balance my check raise sizing(90 is my default).
hi there manuntdfrvr
I hear your argument about balance, but I think restricting your c/r sizing to a single value is a mistake - particularly in this case, since we don't want our opponent peeling with bottom pair.
Balance related considerations are more important against strong players. It's also much more important to balance frequent actions (e.g. your cbet sizing) than it is to balance your c/r sizing (which should normally be pretty infrequent).
Nevertheless, you are essentially clicking it back, and pricing your opponent in, with a weak draw. The only time I would do this is if I was completely convinced my opponent had a hand worse than even ace- or king-high and would fold cheaply. Any gutshot, overcard, etc will be very tempted to peel.
Hope this helps.
