sa1251 Attempts the Latest Heads Up SNG Poker Volume Challenge

June 28th, 2011 - $100 level heads up sng regular sa1251 begins a heavy volume challenge today, attempting to turn a profit over 2025 heads up sngs at the $100 level in just 9 days.  He will be 4-6 tabling on PokerStars, playing roughly 225 games a day for nine days straight.

He has ponied up just under $1,000 of his own money for the challenge.  If successful, he will win $4,000 from other heads up sng players betting against him.

PrimordialAA is no stranger to high volume himself, with just under 60,000 games played on PokerStars and Full Tilt alone.  He believes the proper preparation and mindset can lead to victory for sa1251.  "With dedication and focus, being smart with controlling tilt and picking his sessions wisely while maintaining volume, this is easily possible," said PrimordialAA.

Heads up sng regular ricestud is finishing up a record setting volume (and profit) month for himself, with just under 3,500 games played this month and 90,000 lifetime.  He's not so sure the challenge is likely to be completed.  "sa1251 is undoubtedly a great player, but I don't think people really understand how many games this is.  If a person isn't used to that kind of volume they will hit a wall around 120 games the first day.  225 games is about the amount I would play if I grind extremely hard for a full 15 hour day.  To do that 9 days in a row is not easy," said ricestud.  Asked about his chances of winning the challenge, he replied, "I truly doubt that he will accomplish the goal for 2 reasons.  Once the wall is hit there is a tendency to get matches over with rather than try to win them."  And the other reason?  "He will probably kill himself after day 3."

Sa1251 is off to a rocky start about 18 hours in, with 82 games played and just under $700 in losses.  Sa1251 is living in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with HUSNG coaches HokieGreg and PHMERC.

A number of high volume heads up sng prop bets have taken place in 2011, including Rumnchess $30,000 in 21 days and DaGr1nder's $10,000 in 30 days $55 level challenge.  Rumnchess ultimately fell short on his challenge and DaGr1nder was behind pace when the events of Black Friday disrupted the challenge and ultimately led to the bet being cancelled.
