$215 tournament, when is it profitable?

When will the $215 tournament be +EV to play. I mean, how good do you need to be? Do you think a winner at $110 will be able to show a clear longrun profit at this tournament with the rake involved?

This is kind of a weird

This is kind of a weird question to answer. The $200s are slightly harder than the $100s. Someone significantly beating the $100s will almost definitely be +EV in the $200s. Someone beating the $100s for like <$0.50/game might be -EV in the $200s.

Yes, but I'm talking about

Yes, but I'm talking about the weekly pokerstars tournament. Because it's a tournament where a lot of good high stakes players will sign up for. So I'm trying to figure out if it's + EV for me to compete in it.

Just find out yourselve, it

Just find out yourselve, it is diffecult to say because you don't know who your villain will be. Only option to find it out is to scope all the players, but that is too extreme. I will be playing it this week also for my first time. Primo said it is a hard field, but sometimes you just have to give it a try.

It's definitely soft enough

It's definitely soft enough for a 110 winner to play.
I'd say anybody beating the 33s for 10% ROI or higher, or a 55 winner around 7-8%+ would have a solid edge in that mtt.
There are a lot of known names in it, sure, some are good, but many are much worse than their reputation suggests (in husngs).  I'm talking mtt players, so they are world class tourney guys, but not as great at husng games.  There are exceptions, but in general a lot of the name guys in that thing are not particularly great.

 It's realllllllly

 It's realllllllly soft...
If you beat $115 and don't mind dropping the $215, go for it.  Same goes for $55s I guess, but your bankroll might be a little low.  I'd want at least 6k to play it every other week or something.  10k to play it regularly since it's only once a week.  If it was every night, I'd probably want like 20k.

 Also, it's good for

Also, it's good for handreading b/c 99% of MTTers have no clue what they're doing, but at least default to aggression.  So when they take a line where you're like "wtf are you repping", it's not because they're leveling you or something... it's because they have no clue what's going on.

$55 mtt's on full tilt ?

There's also a $55 shootout on Full Tilt each night and they also had a $100 at christmas, not sure whether they're offering that on a regular basis, though.
Which bankroll would you recommend for playing them on a regular basis, ie. everyday - should 5k be enough to play it every day and 3k to play it once a week or do I need a little more because these are turbo speeds and the blinds go up a lot faster than on Stars ?
I'd really like to try some hu mtt's, but I only have a 4k bankroll at the moment, so I can't afford the $215's yet.
