My HEM didn't save the HH but this is how I think it went:
15/30 blinds, 1500 stacks.
Hero (Ad 9d) raises to 90, Villain calls
Flop (180) 9c 7h 6h
Villain checks, Hero bets 120, Villain calls
Turn (420) 3c
Villain bets 60, Hero raises to 400, Villain shoves
He’s a typical french fish: calling most of his BB’s and floating super wide oop. I’ve been playing very aggressively and valuetowning the shit out of him. I grinded him down to 750, then he called a 3bet shove with 44 against my AK and doubled up.
Pre-flop: standard. He’s only been 3betting me once, so I don’t think he’s ever doing it as a bluff. Therefore I should still raise 3x, right?
Flop: standard cbet, maybe I should make it even bigger? I think he’s floating me here with any pair, oesd, flush draw, random overcard+gutshot type of stuff, etcetc
Turn: I’m multitabling so I’m not sure if he’s been donkbetting like this before. But usually when these kinds of players do this I think they’re pretty weak. Therefore I’m just raising his bet as both for value and to protect my hand. When he shoves it’s sick, as I really really am not expecting him to do that. Am I too pot committed to fold? Afterwards it feels like I should have just called the turn and re-evaluated the river (usually calling his river bets and value betting when he checks). It doesn’t really make sense to raise if I don’t want to call a shove, but then again I really don’t think he will shove with worse here. Thoughts?
obv u are beaten most of the times, but a consistent part of his range is drawing imho and u simply can't fold ur TPTK in that pot,if u raise 200 or stuff like that u can consider to fold, but calling the donkbet is definitly bad in that spot even if sometimes villain do this to induce a raise
There are a lot of draws on the board that you are beating as well as worse 9X. With this much dead money in the pot I don't think that there is any way you are getting away from this one.
