88 in 3bet pot, 4bet pre?/when to fold?/what type of flops in general you can continue with on 88?

No Limit Holdem Tournament • 2 Players$3.32+$0.18 Hand converted by the official HUSNG.com hand converter SBHero1520  BBThiago_Bravo1480  Effective Stacks: 49bb Blinds 15/30 Pre-Flop (45, 2 players) Hero is SB Hero raises to 75, Thiago_Bravo raises to 120, Hero calls 45   Flop (240, 2 players) Thiago_Bravo bets 180, Hero calls 180   Turn (600, 2 players) Thiago_Bravo bets 300, Hero calls 300   River (1200, 2 players) Thiago_Bravo bets 240  I really hate how this hand went. Reviewing it now, I think there are two possible options which are better:1) 4-betting pre. Not sure what kind size would be best though, it's definitely possible that jamming might be ok but stacks are pretty deep for that and he 3-bet me really small. 2)Folding the flop. I dislike this largely because I think the villain will cbet pretty much his entire range here which sucks for me. But I think it's still probably a fold against his range here. Assuming he contines with his entire range in this spot, which I think is pretty wide, something like:  99+,ATs+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KJo+ I have about 40% equity, which is actually more than I expected so I'm confused again as to what's best. The villain was generally pretty nitty pre (though, I still think he has a really wide range for this kind of 3 bet, possible wider than I put above even) because this was around the point in the match (it was our second game) where he was getting really frustrated with me basically opening 100% to try and exploit him. I think generally he only bet big when he had a hand, but often bet small amounts with random air (which is another plus to folding the flop I guess) but is also why the river confused the hell out of me :(

I'd flat pre, I think

I'd flat pre, I think 4betting to get it in with this much behind (effectively, since he made a min 3bet) isn't great unless he's loose preflop. I'm sure his range for this size is weaker than normal but if youd describe him as nitty I think it's still bad to get in 50bb here pre. With your reads on his bet sizing I'd fold the flop. We have blockers to some of his most likely bluffs that would bet big and we have a hand that rarely improves on the turn. All of those things point towards giving up on the hand early. Given the board runout and his bet sizing, however, I'd call turn and river.

Would need more info

I do agree with barewire to flat his 3b, and then when he fires 3/4 on that flop, it'll be pretty tough for u to continue in the hand, unless u already know his betting patterns on 3b pots (i usually have different bet sizes on 3b pots than in single raised pots) for this i guess u need at least to have played 2 3b pots beyond the flop. Not to mention that so far, i've realized that it's pretty tough to bluff them if they've got something like  T's or J's so to continue to try to make them fold those type of hands it's prob not good.

I will 4 bet Jam preflop if I

I will 4 bet Jam preflop if I now that villan is 3beting me wide if is 3bet me 1 time i will 4bet to 300 and fold to a 5 bet. When you flat call mini 4bet he can have there many hands like QT, KT, T9s and something like this. So on Flop like this is easy to fold. Bacause many hands can bit me. :)Chers,Piter
