Advice for a CG player transitioning to HT HUSNG

Hello,

I'm a CG reg (50NL and 100NL) and I've grinded 6max CGs exclusively for the past year. As the action seems to be drying up, and I think that it's much more worthwhile to turn my attention to grinding and studying HUSNG, where the action seems to be a lot better, and the games seem to be a lot more profitable. Also just kinda want a change of scenery. All that being said, I have some questions:

1. Which of the video packages are most beginner friendly? I want to start off from basic preflop range construction vs unknowns at diff stack depths. E.g. creating a range at 8-11bb in the SB that is completely comprehensive, which means it should have a somewhat balanced open jam, 2x/call, limp/call, 2x/fold, limp/fold range. Creating and understanding these ranges will be my first order of business, as I have no experience with HUSNG play whatsoever.

2. At what level would it be most pertinent for me (or rather, the average person progressing through the HT HUSNG stakes) to get coaching? I guess what I'm asking is where is there a large skill jump in terms of player populations. For example in 6max CG I would say the largest skill gap before 100NL is between 25NL and 50NL. Players are a lot more aggressive, have better understanding of ranges both pre and post flop, etc.

3. Is Pokerstars the single best option if I'm going to usually be playing during off peak hours? I live in Asia, and I'm sick of grinding through the night on iPoker, although the 60% rakeback deals there are just so so good, I just feel like the sacrifices on health/relationships is not a worthy tradeoff.

4. Finally, any advice/wise words about the journey from players/coaches that have transitioned from CGs to HUSNG would be appreciated!smiley

Thank you in advance for any advice!

I always liked the video pack

I always liked the video pack from chadders very much. It certainly is great building up. For someone who is new to hyper-hu-sng it should be a great fit. But I dunno all the other packs.

Pokerstars probably is the best site for any kind of game so far. Don't get carried away by the high RB % at ipoker; the rake on iPoker is much higher than it it is on stars, meaning that your 'paid rake' is still higher in on ipoker in most cases.

If you wanna get coaching, I would recommend that you book the 4 hours coaching curse with cog dissonance. The course is really great and Paul (cog dissonance) has a teaching degree - which makes him teach you really great.

You might even wanna consider taking his coaching curse, take the normal package and just watch random videos in order to support it. Paul or Ryan should be able to let you know which way is the better to go.

Videos for regular and turbo speed?

Hi,

I also have played 6max cash for a few years and am looking to transition into turbo and/or regular HUSNGs.
What video pack is the best value for 3.5$-15$ level?

Hey there, I'd recommend

Hey there,

I'd recommend Greenbast's Beginner Turbo Pack. It applies to both turbo and regular speed and is aimed at exactly your buyin level.

We have an intermediate pack coming out that will be the next step for you thereafter, it should be out this summer.

Good luck on the transition, let us know if you have any other questions!
