Hi Cog,
Great Video.
The hand at 28:39, u has AK the flop is 422 the vilain donkbets the pot, a weird move, and u shove.
My doubts are:
why u shove? because the vilain call u with any pair, 4x, 2x, and fold all another hands.
the vilain always calls u with better hands and fold all worst. this is the specific doubt.
before bets or raises I analyse the range call of vilain then: if I identify worst hands calls me, i bet for value, if i identify better hands fold for me i bet for bluff.
but this rule sometimes get me confuses because are not better hands fold for me or worst hands call me, and i checks, but this manner i dont get the pot. this my theory doubt.
ps: I am brazilian and my grammar its not very fine. :)
I general you are right, but:
422 nearly never hits the calling range of villain and also if he would hit (quite a monster mostly) he would never bet this flop, because he would check/raise, or give you action on later streets.
This means his move makes absolute no sense and therefore our hand is the nutz most of the time.
I agree with beatmeup here, and of course considering the amount of chips in the pot I want to take it down now and not give him a cheap turn and river..
