Flopped Second Pair, Interesting Turn Card...

Villain had been raising slightly over half his buttons (folding the rest). He seemed to be a "decent" straightforward player. His average stake was over $180 and as high as $2k, but lately his average stake was $14. He was a loser at higher stakes and moderate winner at lower stakes (go figure). This is only our third flop of the match and it's around hand #30. It's the first chance he has to cbet, and I expect a cbet from him on this board nearly 100%. When the turn card hits, I bet for a couple reasons...first, This board can easily hit my flatting range and I believe it looks very valueish (Am I wrong?). Second, I want to protect my hand. He's played very passively and straightforward up until this point and I don't expect him to spazz out; if he raises, I am beat and can easily fold. I don't expect him to float weak hands here. Is my donk on the turn good considering these factors? No Limit Holdem Tournament • 2 Players$22+$1Hand converted by the official HUSNG.com hand converterBBHero1060 SBpo77a1940 Effective Stacks: 35bbBlinds 15/30

I would say that he got

I would say that he got AK,KQ, something in that relation. When you check the flop he does standard cbet to take it down, but you call, so when you bet almost half of the pot he must give up, because he doesn't have anything + board is so wet.

I think a turn bet here can

I think a turn bet here can be very good here given the factors you listed. I think however a good opponent is able to pick up that it is most likely a protective bet, given the way the board runs out. Maybe you can make the sizing a little smaller (like 260-280) given that he plays straight forward and is not gonna float you wide.
