How To Convert And Post Hand Histories Properly!

2014 Update - Check out this post by Cdon for clear instructions, thanks Cdon!

Hey guys, here's a quick run-through for posting your hands correctly.

Okay, so...

Converting
1. Go to the hand history converter.
2. Paste your hand history into the box and hit submit.
3. Highlight all of the text that the converter spits out.

Posting
4. Create a new topic in the hand review Forum.

5. Click "Source"

6. Paste all of the text from the converter into the text area.

7. Click "Source" again. You should see your hand in a nice format now.

8. You should now see the nicely formatted hand in the text area. Click in the text area and type your text above or below the converted hand history.

9. Give it a title and submit it by clicking the "save" button at the bottom. You could also click "Preview" to preview before you submit the hand.

The result should look like this...

I have reached my limit of

I have reached my limit of frustration with this hand converter.I have been posting hand histories for nine years now and have not needed to try more than once on any hand history converter I've used since the first one.I have been trying for over 30 minutes to make a simple post, but I give up now.I finally got to the point of finding the HTML button on the toolbar, pasted in the converted hand history (which I had several troubles with), and hit the UPDATE button. I thought, "AHA! I got it now!" when it displayed the cards. Then I hit PREVIEW and it was back to displaying the HTML code. I hit SUBMIT just to see if the cards would show correctly in the finished post, but no luck.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG.I also see that I am not the only idiot that cannot figure this out.

Is there any chance of getting a converter that just puts the converted hh right into a post?

RyPac13's picture
Is anybody still having

Is anybody still having issues with the converter?I successfully posted a few hands in our staff forum to check on it, it seems to be working fine for me.I think one thing we can do is have a mini video tutorial linked on the HH converter page, as well as written instructions on that page.

qattack's picture
I again have wasted another

I again have wasted another 30 minutes trying to post hands with this hand converter.Sometimes, but not often, I get the hand correctly into Preview mode. When I do accomplish this, I cannot add any text without completely screwing up the formatting. At other times, when I paste into the HTML window, it just spits out my HH unformatted. And yet other times, I am informed that a "body field is required", although the hand appears to have pasted and formatted correctly.Again, I'm thoroughly frustrated with the HH converter. As I said before, this is the only HH converter in ten years I haven't been able to use successfully, and I've NEVER spent more than ten minutes figuring one out.I am following the directions to the letter, so a video would not help anything.

SOLUTION to HH Converter Problems...

Ryan hopped on TeamViewer with me a couple of days ago and discovered the likely problem that everyone who is having problems with HH Converter is likely experiencing...There is a dropdown box on the converter screen immediately above the "Submit" button with a default option of "html". Change this to "HTML/CSS" before pressing Submit. This should take care of all the problems!

HTML now means source, we changed editors recently.
Forum Topic Screen just means the text editor area I believe (the screen that has the forum topic you want to create to post the hand).
Let me know if this is still working OK.

Tried but failed...

Hi Webmaster.
I tried to convert a hand history out of PT3 foloowing the mixed instructions above.
It would be really helpfull if the instructions could be strealined and updated, because its not flowing in a mellow kind of way.
Id like to post more hands but the frustration just kills the will.
Many Thanks,
C.

Go forth and CRUSH !

Hello, is it possibly to upload videos on forums here to talk about hand histories with CoffeeYay Hud. I can upload hand histoies to YouTube but is there a way to access them on this forum? Thanks for any suggestions

serge's picture
Hi

Hi lindridgeben,

Unfortunately, that's not possible due to technical limits. Specifically, to embed YouTube videos on websites and forums, you need to use a certain HTML code called an "IFrame". However, IFrames are also used by advertising bots to spam forums with advanced advertising. To keep advertising bots disguised as normal users from spamming our forums with IFrame advertising, we block normal users from posting IFrames. However, I can post IFrame code here, so if you'd like, just post the URL (the web address) to the YouTube video in your post, and then send me an e-mail with the post's URL in it and I will edit your post to replace the URL of the YouTube video with the IFrame code that will actually embed your video in your post. You can e-mail me at serge@husng.com.

Hi, sorry we're working on a fix for this. In the meantime, just paste raw text HHs (you can replace names with hero and villain by using the replace all feature on notepad or wordpad on the hands).
