How does HU Cash compare to HUSNG?

Are we applying a lot of the same concepts when it comes to effective stacks? Par example, am I adjusting my pre-flop raises etc. based on effective stacks? Does nash still apply?

Thank you for helping this slightly retarded man.

I start looking at Nash when

I start looking at Nash when we're 20BB deep, but only really start following it as of 12BB and bellow. Given that in HU cash (unless you shortstack or face a shortstacker) you are often playing at 100BB+, Nash isn't really that helpful.

However, I do think that a lot of the concepts relating to hand/board reading still apply to HU cash. Exploiting certain villain types is similar as well.

A lot of husng pros (guys

A lot of husng pros (guys like Skates and xSCWx) do very good playing 50bb hu cash poker at pretty high levels.

When you think about it, even some of the notoriously good hu cash pros aren't going to have much experience playing 50bb poker heads up, so there are a lot of edges to be had in the short term.  These are guys that play tons of hands, but they play them deeper, so their deep stacked play is incredibly good.

But even the smartest poker minds will need to play some hands at 50bbs before they are the best, so until then, a good husng player can take advantage in 50bb cash settings.
