HU SnG Bankroll Management

Hi,

Since I'm now 100% focussing on HU SnG and cashed out my total 6max Bankroll that was left and buy me something what nobody can take me ever from my former Poker winnings. It's now time to start my real HU SnG poker career. In the past 2 1/2 months I could always concentrate on learning and playing very comfortable due to that I always had in mind I will have a hugh Bankroll if something wents wrong. I would say that I'm still a beginner at HU SnG but now with more feedback and done a lot for my education. Sometime I still struggle with some moves and surely I have still many leaks in my game but I try to avoid them in the future.

As read in many postings here and from the coaches I decided to start with a 40BuyIn Bankroll and playing the regular 20$ Limits. Unfortunately I lost 5 BuyIns and took the advcie from PrimoridalAA to go down a limit and play 10$ Limits with 70 BuyIns. Im now trying to climb for 20's again and so far I have 74 BI now again. When I reached the 40 BI's again I will start to grind the 20$ again and so on and so on....

Everyone agree with that plan of my bankrollmanagement, so far?

I'd advise something more

I'd advise something more aggressive, especially for the lower stakes. I don't think that the difference in skill is very significant between the levels at those stakes and using such conservative bankroll management could really slow down your progress.

I would go into more detail, but the article I wrote here probably explains it best:

Hi,
i would recommend a aggressive BRM at the 10$ & 20$ levels at least if you feel comfortable playing them and sometimes dropping down in stakes. And of course you shouldn´t play if you are tired or on tilt or whatever.

I play HUSNGs since 2 Month (i played at $50 ~1 1/2 years ago but moved to Fr-Cash)  i took 400$ out of my roll and started HUSNGs at the 21$ level, quickly moved up to the 34$ (at 600$) try to get better and grind it up to 30BI for the 50s.....

so, if you take a aggressive approach you have to handle the swings and the fact, that you can loose ~40% of your roll in a couple of days.

I would also recommend sitting a few regulars before moving up, it wont make you much money in the short term, but you will get better, because you get used to playing tougher opponents for slightly lower stakes.

ps: taking small shots before moving up if you are not 100%comfortable is also a very good thing, just set a stop-loss at 3-5BI and if it works out good you can just continue to play on the new level.
