Interview with dusan32

 Age: 24

Country: Czech Republic

Hobbies: soccer, squash, travelling

Charles Hawk: How old were you when you started playing poker?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: I started playing poker when I was 18 but started taking it more seriously about 3years ago. After I finnished high school I worked for a few months, but decided to play poker proffesionally. I've always played only HU hypers. I'm a member of 60s division and hope that I will make it to the 100s division till the end of this year.

Last year I made Supernova for the second time.

Charles Hawk: What have you started to do differently? What changed?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: I was a typical fish, playing all kinds of formats and didn't know what is bankroll management but one day I managed to get some coaching and recommendations in free videos on husng.com. I really enjoyed mersenneary's videos and, of course, I bought chaders's pack. After that, I was crushing 15s but I have to say that I was running extremely hot for the first year.

After I finished high school I worked for a few months, but have decided to play poker professionally.

Charles Hawk: Are you happy with your choice to not go to university?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: I am absolutely happy with my choice because poker gave me a lot of things that I can enjoy in life and it also totally changed my view on life itself.

Charles Hawk: Are there any job(s) you would see yourself in (besides playing poker)?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: If I didn't play poker I would want to do something similar. Maybe trading but it's hard to say now.

Charles Hawk: Give me more details about your journey to Thailand?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: I am reading a lot of blogs, people who are working from all around world and everybody who was in Asia recommended it. When one of my friends told me if should go to Thailand I didn't hesitate. Now I can say that it was a good choice. I was in Vietnam and Cambodia too and everywhere was cheap, nice people and awesome food. I hope that I will visit Thailand again!

Charles Hawk: Do you set short-term goals? What is your ordinary work-day? How it looks like?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: I don't set short-term goals I just play when I want and when I feel good.

I usually wake up from 11am-1pm and go to lunch ( sometimes cook something) and go grinding

to the evening. At the most of the evenings, I go to play squash or soccer with my friends.

Charles Hawk: How are you improving, which tools do you use, how do you use them? Do you have poker-friends with whom you are talking strategy constantly?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: I'm too lazy to use tools so I prefer to get coaching on the subject, rather than going through my HHs and use bunch of tools. (yeah I know that I can do both but this is my biggest leak and hope that I will fix it).

Last year I was grinding with my friend but he stopped playing poker, so I'm mostly on my own now.

Charles Hawk: How many tables do you play at once? How many games do you usually play per day?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: It depends on traffic but usually play 2-4 tables at once and 80-100 games per day with 1 or 2 days off per week.

Charles Hawk: What do you think about online poker’s future? And about HUSNG hypers future?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: I think online poker's future is not as bad as the majority of the people think. If midstakes reg can earn $50K-$70K is still much more than in some kinds of jobs. The biggest problem can be in some countries regulating online gambling.

HU hypers are one of the most profitable formats for now so it will stay for a while like this.

Charles Hawk: Do you value money?

Jiri 'dusan32' Dusek: For me, the biggest value in money is that I can do what I want to do and when I want to do it. And those things are making me and other people happier.
