Everyone is pretty bad in the low/mid stakes but I think the games are getting tougher because players arn't playing straight forward anymore. I feel like I am being bluffed off hands and I have started bluff catching far wider and a lot more. Sometimes it is easy since the bluff is so bad, sometimes it is very hard. A lot of the time I am on middle pair facing a river raise and this is at the $7, $15, and even at the $3.50 level. So many videos assume that players fall into categories and they are playing either pretty straight forward or like a maniac. Has anyone else found this? It may be because I play on pokerstars and the games are a bit tougher. I find myself looking at watching videos of higher stakes to pick off well timed bluffs at the $15 level.I have seen coaches fold in lower stakes since they just assume people arn't bluffing much and arn't good enough to bluff. I just don't think this is the case anymore. I have had to put a tonne of bluffs in my range to keep up including shoving the river and really have to think about ranges pretty in depth. I feel like it is not about just looking at your equity with say middle pair and betting for value vs draws/bottom pair and folding to aggression on the turn/river anymore. Perhaps that worked in the past but it doesn't now against the general player pool imo.
