Fare Start

Mersenneary started playing poker in the summer of 2007, while serving curly fries and cotton candy at an amusement park for minimum wage.

He started out at 25NL, playing full ring with a self described "nitty" style of play.  "I tilted after some losses and went to heads up sngs to try to win them back and quickly realized that heads up sngs are a faster way to make +EV wagers over and over again, and I just kind of went up from there," says Mersenneary.

School

Mersenneary was a Connect Four Oregon 4A High School State Champion in 2006 after being runner up the year before.

Mersenneary went on to attend Princeton in the fall of 2006 until the spring of 2010.  He graduated with a degree in psychology and became a certified teacher in the fall of 2010, through the Princeton Teacher Prep Program.

Mersenneary also took game theory classes at Princeton, and even had a memorable Q&A session with John Nash himself.

Poker Accomplishments

Mersenneary has earned over $300,000 in profit in heads up sngs on Full Tilt lifetime.  While he is known as an end game specialist and groundbreaking coach in that domain, he has actually made over $70,000 not only in super turbos, but also $70,000 each in both turbo speed and regular speed heads up formats.

Mersenneary made over $100,000 in December 2010 on Full Tilt Poker and donated over 15% of his pre-tax winnings from that month th charity Partners In Health.

FastTrack

In March of 2011 Mersenneary debuted "FastTrack," a heads up sng coaching program specially designed to meet the needs of hard working heads up players.  With a private forum on HUSNG.com, Mersenneary gave each FastTrack student their own thread, where they could ask any question that they wanted.  The program was a great success, and went on to include 1 on 1 skype sessions, monthly articles from Mersenneary and eventually, the addition of HokieGreg as instructor.

"Back when I introduced FastTrack, there was a lot of hate from people wondering if something like that could ever be successful, coaching dozens of students at once in a private forum.  From those tentative beginnings we've built it up into something really successful.  Students working hard and getting rewarded for it through what I have to share with them has been one of my favorite things about my poker experience," says Mersenneary.

Videos

Mersenneary's first video debuted on HUSNG.com in May of 2010.  The video featured a powerpoint presentation on end game play followed by 40 minutes of super turbo games against fellow coach Fydor_8.

By October 2011, Mersenneary had over 50 videos on the site, and had become the most popular instructor on the heads up poker training site.  Most of his videos feature end game, super/hyper turbo concepts and include power point presentations, live play, play against full tilt pros, against top regulars, singing, rapping and more.  Mersenneary plans to continue making videos as his busy schedule allows.

Mersenneary has 2 hours of hyper turbo footage in the Hyper Turbo Masters I video pack, released in February 2013. Rave reviews of the finished product followed for his work in identifying the most common leaks that players have. A full video pack authored by Maxwell is expected in the summer of 2013, an expansion on the leak identification process.

Future

In July 2011, Mersenneary began a job in algorithmic modeling and trading for a high-frequency trading firm in Chicago.  He also began working on an free ebook project for HUSNG.com, set to debut in December 2011.
