OOP Calling Range Question

I am pretty tight OOP like most. Only calling with PP's, decent SC's, broadways ect. but when playing someone who min raises as their standard open size..I'm wondering how much or if at all should we be widening our OOP calling range?

Oh also, just so I don't

Oh also, just so I don't get the "it depends" answer

I mean pretty much readless, first part of the match where you don't have a chance to really know how your opponent plays post flop but you see enough to know min raising his buttons is his standard.

I call min raises pretty

I call min raises pretty wide. Why not, if they're going to make it so cheap? Just today I called a min raiser with 83s and flopped two pair on an 8310 flop. I check-raised and he 3bet jammed with A10, didn't improve, and I got berated for the 83 call pre. But, again, why not if he's going to make it so cheap?

Your calling range sounds

Your calling range sounds too tight to me against a player who is opening 3BB, and disastrously tight against someone who is min-raising. It is difficult to give you a range to call with because it depends largely upon how your opponent is going to play postflop and how well you can play out of position, but I can try to give you a little guidance to help you.

When you flat call a min-raise, you are calling 1BB to win a pot that is a total of 4BB. If your opponent is min-raising a wide range and never betting postflop, then you should not be folding here ever. Contrastingly, if your opponent  is aggressive and going to be triple barreling every hand, you don't want to be calling with hands like 72o if you think you will frequently be bet off of your hand when you flop a pair of 7s or a pair of 2s.

If you just want a really simple answer to get started with, I'm calling min-raises against most people with something like any face card, 78o+.

Thanks for the response.

Thanks for the response. That's what I was afraid of...that I was being a little too tight OOP. I forgot to mention a few hands..like I call with some suited gappers too. So what your saying is when facing a min raise you'd be calling with stuff like J8o, K6o (weak J,Q,K,A), and 78o +.

Yeah, I call with all of those.

If you're readless, I don't

If you're readless, I don't even mind a tighter starting range, at least until you see a few flops and get a general idea of how your opponent is going to play.

After that, then I would take the advice of everybody else here telling you to call with a wider range.

But if you're just calling to flop a hand without any information on your opponent, even calling a minraise with some of these weaker hands is going to be a losing effort.
