Rakeback pros says NO

After forwarding them an e-mail I got from FTP support in November, I get the below response. I'm pissed, I finally put money on this fucking site...

Hi Corey

Thank you for your interest in RakeBackPros.

We regret to inform you that at this time we will not be able to offer
you rakeback for your existing Full Tilt Poker account.

We will keep your player details and if we are able to offer you
rakeback in the future we will contact you at the email address you have
registered with us.

We wish you good luck in your future play on Full Tilt Poker and
appreciate your interest.

Regards,

 Have you played much

Have you played much volume there before, it might be that they only offer it to existing customers that use the site alot?

Same Problem

I assume you signed up under another affiliate at first?  I have the same problem.  I signed up there 5 years ago and got a free chip set or some crap.  Now I can't get rakeback there because of this.  I email them about once a year and get the same response.  I tried again at the end of December when I read that certain players that had signed up under affiliates without getting rakeback were getting 10k bonuses to work off this year that would basically figure out to be rakeback.  After 3 or so back and forth emails the final response was something similar to yours.

From what little I know of the affiliate deals is that they get paid one of 2 ways to sign up new players.  They either get a one time cut of say $75 or they get a lifetime cut of that player's rake.  I have to assume that my case is my original affiliate I signed up under is getting a lifetime cut so FullTilt wouldn't be making squat off of me by giving me this bonus and giving my affiliate their cut.  Although trying to put logic to some of FullTilt's randomness makes my head hurt.  I guess I'm just glad I'm a SuperNova on Stars and I will stay there.

Yea, I really don't like

Yea, I really don't like that they give/gave the affiliate an option that really hurts the player.

Other skins do this too, where a rakeback provider can offer the max, say 30% rakeback on a skin, or they can offer nothing but they get a higher % of the player.  It's pretty shady in my opinion.  If we ever offered no rakeback for a rakeback site, we'd be counteracting that with some free prizes or givaways to make up for the loss in value to the customer.

I'm in the same position.

I'm in the same position. But least I got a free odds calculator for signing up through my great affiliate :D

Just read the OP and

Just read the OP and comments..

I joined FTP in May last year. I didn't even know what rakeback etc was back then so I was screwed.

Anyway after a few months I realised I'd been naive.

I requested rakeback and they told me to contact Rakeback Pros - so i did. They said they'd keep my name on file etc. This was about November '09.

Bulls**t i thought.

Anyway, happy ending, 4 days ago they emailed me totally out of the blue saying I am now eligable. So now they are giving me 27% rakeback.

I've accumulated $6500 in rake >> not sure if that info's handy.

It seems unfair they are giving some players rakeback, and some are getting denied. Not sure what the criteria is but i'm not a high stakes player or anything. Hope this helps in some way. Zak.

Thanks Zak - that keeps me

Thanks Zak - that keeps me optimistic at least. I might e-mail them and inquire as to what exactly the criteria is. Maybe the first reply here was correct and you have to have played X number of hands or months or something

To zakwray

Did you just sign up directly at FullTilt when you created your account?  If so, I can see them giving you rakeback now.  The problem is when you click someone elses link to sign up it's tied to that affiliate.  These are the ones that are hard to convert.

To Titans01..

..what was the benefit of signing up through that affiliate then if you weren't getting rakeback?

..yeah i just signed up on my own, no affiliate, so yeah, this must be the difference..

Gifts

Because they will give you free gifts like poker chip sets, poker tracker, etc.  A lot of people don't know about rakeback, myself included at the time, so they figure might as well get a free gift instead of just signing up on my own.

zakwray's picture
..those poker chips must be

..those poker chips must be some of the most expensive chips around then lol

The affiliates who don't

The affiliates who don't give rakeback keep the cut for themselves, so there isn't any benefit for you but there is a LOT of benefit for them.

I signed up at FTP in june

I signed up at FTP in june 2009 and asked rakebackpros for rakeback at the end of december, got an answer 2-3 week after from rakebackpros saying that I'll receive rakeback,  they don't really explain how they chose eligible people, but i think it's better to mail rakebackpro than full tilt, and tell them you won't play full tilt anymore unless you get a positive answer.
