Turning 2 pair after mono flop?

I 3bet with this hand because villain was opening a wide range, calling 3bets light and folding often to cbets in 3bet pots, so I raised for value preflop with the intention of taking it down on most flops. When the flop comes mono should I even be cbetting here? On the turn I bet purely for value as its very unlikely villain flopped the flush and I'm almost certainly ahead right?.

Should I even be getting in to this situation in a 3bet pot on a mono flop? or would I have been better of checking it down?

I think it makes sense to 3bet this hand versus this villain and it made sense gameflow wise. I'm unsure of postflop though and I feel like I played it badly?

I would flat this hand

I would flat this hand preflop, you are going to be dominated a lot when you flop top pair from a 3bet calling range from hands like KQ, KJ and some K 10.  As played though you have to bet flop for protection with no spade.  You almost always have the best hand on the turn apart from vs slow played flushes.  I would prefer betting bigger on the turn to put his pair with a spade in a shove or fold spot because giving him 3 to1 on a call with the implied odds hes getting the right odds to call and our hand is very vulnerable to bet that size with no spade.  The times the river brings a spade we have to check fold leaving him slightly better than a 3 to 1 chip lead.

I'd flat pre.your reasoning

I'd flat pre.

your reasoning for 3betting is solid, but since we aren't looking to make money from showdown our actual hand matters little. 72o offers the same fold equity as K9 but K9 is one of the better hands in our flatting range. the king offers some blockers to his preflop continuing range so maybe weak Kx would be a better candidate to 3bet without diluting our flatting range.

as played he is unlikely to have a made flush and will have a single spade a significant amout of the time. betting flop and river is fine, agree with arron re the sizing.

river is interesting if he is likely to bet his missed draws and Kx then checking may be best. it's hard for him to call 3 streets to all-in without a hand that would value bet the river anyway and we get value of of his bluffs. not sure what that does for our overall river strategy though.

Hi there Ellzebub Just wanted

Hi there Ellzebub

Just wanted to add my voice to the above comments: it's fundamentally bad to be 3betting small preflop without a strong hand. K9o is a weak hand. You are offering your opponent very attractive odds to play in position with a wide range. If you think 3bet bluffing is good, bluff bigger. Strongly negative EV here, and plenty of chances to lose a big pot.

As played: overbet turn.
